Damon Owens:
International speaker and evangelist, is executive director of Joyful Ever After. Damon is the keynote speaker and will account for 3 of the 5 CEU's at this event. His sessions will be 9:00am, 12:30pm, and 3:30. Check out the three different topics below. Who Are You? Proposing An “Adequate” Human Anthropology
Damon will address the question, "Who Are You?" and propose an "adequate" human anthropology. Attendees will gain an understanding of the key structure, scope, and major points of St John Paul II's Theology of the Body, which serves as a foundation for health and wholeness. Additionally, the lecture will touch on masculinity and femininity as a sign, power, and mission to love as God loves in life-giving communion and covenant. Finally, attendees will trace the original dignity of man and woman through the salvation story, which includes creation, the fall, incarnation, and redemption. By the end of this lecture, attendees will have a better understanding of human anthropology and how it relates to the Theology of the Body. Whose Are You? The Essentials of Relationship
In this one-hour session we will be discussing the key relationships that are essential for wholeness and health in human beings. We will analyze the quality and need for human relationships in light of the deepest meaning of personhood. Furthermore, we will explore the true nature of love and belonging in healthy human relationships. By the end of the session, we aim to apply our understanding of love to create a hierarchy of human relations, which will help us identify the relationships that are most important for our personal growth and well-being. Why Are You Here? The Meaning and Mission of a Whole and Holy Life
This session will delve into the importance of gender, sexuality, celibacy, marriage, motherhood, and fatherhood in God's plan for our salvation. We will apply an "adequate" anthropology and the nature of love to identify the states of life that are best suited for human flourishing. Additionally, we will explore the concept of vocation as a proper lens to discern goodness and fulfillment in life choices. By the end of the session, we hope to gain a better understanding of how these essential relationships and life choices contribute to our overall sense of purpose and meaning in life. |
